想学教育专业的别错过：探索哥大TC的应用语言学与TESOL项目

哥伦比亚大学的Teacher’s College（教师学院）在Applied Linguistics & TESOL（应用语言学与对外英语教学）专业内开设了众多不同时长、不同学位、不同学分要求的研究生项目，来满足同学们各种不同目的的学习需求，我们今天将在这篇文章中带领大家来深入探索，哥大TC的TESOL专业究竟开设了多少个不同的项目，每个项目又分别适合怎样的同学申请。

包含TESOL证书的项目

对于希望毕业之后能够进入美国的中小学，教授Pre-K到12年级的小朋友ESL课程的同学，哥大TC开设了两个项目：

M.A. in TESOL, PK-12 Initial Certification
M.A. in TESOL, PK-12 Transitional B (Peace Corps) Certification

其中，第二个项目主要是针对参加过Peace Corps的志愿者后，想要返回公立中小学继续从事教师职业的同学，不太适合我们绝大多数国际学生的情况，所以我们主要来看第一个项目，M.A. in TESOL, PK-12 Initial Certification

这个项目要求同学们完成37个学分的学习，毕业后可获得纽约州的初级TESOL教师资格证书，也就是获得了在纽约州的中小学教授Pre-K到12年级的小朋友ESL课程的资格

项目课程

要想获得这个学位，同学们需要完成四个领域的课程：

General Courses 通识课程：

Educational Linguistics 教育语言学
Pedagogical English grammar 教学英语语法
Introduction to second language acquisition 第二语言习得入门
Second language assessment 第二语言评估

对于只修读应用语言学和对外英语教学通用学位，不需要TESOL证书的同学，还需要从以下语用课程中选修一门：

Sociolinguistics and education 社会语言学与教育
Discourse analysis 话语分析
Conversation analysis 会话分析
Text and textuality 文本和文本性
